Comfort-only support animals are not service animals under the ADA. They follow each park’s posted pet rules, including leash and trail restrictions.
Pet dogs are welcome in many trail destinations, but leash requirements, waste pickup, and restricted habitat zones still apply.
Staff may ask whether the animal is required because of a disability and what task it is trained to perform. They may not request documentation or ask about a diagnosis.
